Most DJs in Atlanta are reputable business people and entertainers. Below are some tips and questions you should think about when hiring an entertainer for your special event.
What have you done for me lately?
We are members of the American Disc Jockey Association. This is a non-profit group dedicated to helping each DJ learn as much as possible about the art of entertaining. We meet each month to share with and learn from each other. We believe a better DJ will provide a better entertainment value for the clients.
Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely! Being a DJ is a legitimate business. There is no such thing as a DJ license, but we do have a business license.
We have a W-9 on hand for companies that require proper tax identification certification.
Being a business owner we choose to carry liability insurance to protect you, your guests, and myself in the event of accident. Many venues actually require all vendors to show proof of insurance. You may want to ask your DJ for a copy of his valid certificate of insurance.
Do you use professional equipment?
Absolutely!
Home stereo equipment is great for the home but will not stand up to the rigors of the road. Professional DJ equipment is designed to be moved around.
Can I meet with you and see you perform?
We look forward to meeting with you in person. This will give us a chance to get to know each other.
As for seeing us work, we serve as the house Dee Jays for Crowne Plaza in Marietta. If we are performing at an event that is open to the public you are welcome to come out.
If a DJ offers to have you visit someone else's event then there is a very good chance they will invite strangers to your special occasion as well. That is never appropriate.
Do you have proper attire / what will you wear?
What ever you say is appropriate. Tuxedo, suit, business casual, disco polyester or Hawaiian shirt and shorts. Whatever your occasion, we will dress appropriately. If you need us to have matching colors for your wedding that is definitely an option
How many events will your DJ work on your special day?
ONE ! You deserve our undivided attention on your special day. Our attention should not be split between your event and the event we just left or the one we need to go to.
